The Barron Knights

Right Up Their Street

At the Strode Theatre in Street, Somerset, nostalgia returned with energy, enthusiasm and brilliant harmonies for which the Barron Knights have been known in showbiz...for over 50 years! Add to that the humour of their lyrics, parodied from well-known songs past and present, and you can see why they still have audiences filling theatres, year in and year out to see thier brilliant performances.

I asked founder member PETE LANGFORD why he thinks people still come to see them after all this time and he said: "Since we started, we have gradually built up a fan-base with a loyal following and we are so grateful that those fans still want to see us. Many have grown up with us and love the variety of music and humour we present."

Although the whole content of the live concert at the Stode Theatre was superb and the audience participation was a joy to witness, the highlight of the whole evening for me (and for many others) was Pete's rendition on guitar of ' William Tell Overture'... the tempo was electrifying.

The harmonies, timing and sheer profesionalism of the BK's were nothing short of first class and, even after 50 years in the business, The Barron Knights are certainly worth the acclaim and the accolades they are always given by their audiences.

Here's to the next 50 years, and I don't say that with tongue in cheek. I found it hard to see a single wrinkle on any of their faces! Forever youthful.

Brilliant.... just brilliant!
