LATEST REVIEW…..GROVE THEATRE DUNSTABLE 17TH May 08 As I walked into the packed ,buzzing auditorium it becomes apparent that I am in fact the youngest person in the room. My suspicions are confirmed when the Knights break into their second song about “Viagra” and all the men in the audience give a wry chuckle. The Barron Knights who stormed the charts in 1964 with ‘Call Up The Groups’ are on fine form and stomp their way through, wait for it, no less than three decades of songs with some bearing those hilarious Barron Knight lyrics. The Musicianship of these guys is testament to their longevity and the band absolutely nail a version of the ‘William Tell Overture’ which really gets the crowd going. This homecoming extravaganza also featured many surprising anecdotes from the band which included how they toured with theBeatles and not to be outdone the Knights played their three part harmony version of ‘Blackbird’ Do you know what I think, the young folks are missing out on some of this true Rock and Roll Action.
